Dennis says the term SaaS is no longer relevant I don’t necessarily agree, but here’s my quick take on it. What’s after SaaS? It ain’t SaaS 2.0.
Long Live SES = Software Enabled Service.
Update: It just occured to me that I first used this term in August 2006, describing EchoSign.
I’m not sure I agree with Dennis either. Over here in the UK the general business person is only just beginning to understand the deployment options available, and understand the benefits of SaaS. I’m not sure now is the time to change the rules and move to a different term. If we do, I’d vote for your SES – it has I nice ring to it.
